Santi Navarro and Pedrito López achieve second place in Lower Hungary
FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup
The team of FN Speed Team formed by Santi Navarro and Pedrito López has achieved a commendable podium, reaching the second position in his T3 category in the race of the Lower Hungary, which took place on the 10th and 11th of August.
The one of Hungary was a short race, of only two days, with the prologue stage disputed Friday 10, and the main stage, divided in two sectors that added 500 kilometers, on Saturday the 11th. Navarro and López started in the best possible way winning the prologue in his category and being tenth overall absolute, so they participated in the podium ceremony of the top ten. But the difficulties came on the second day.
"Saturday rained a lot. We left controlling, but there was a neutralization of the route. Then we suffered some problems with the car, probably an electrical failure due to the rain, and there we lost our chances of victory, "explains Pedrito López.
The mileage of the second sector of the stage was also cut, even more so than the first sector. Therefore, "you had to manage time better, and calculate very well. We did that, but with 10 km to go, the car came to a halt. However, we managed to finish in second place ", adds the co-pilot, for whom the moral is that there will always be things that can not be controlled, but" in which you can control, you have to do it well ".
Santi Navarro and Pedrito López keep the second place in the general classification of the T3 category of the FIA Cross Country Rally World, so, with three races remaining, they maintain their final victory options.
The next appointment will be in Lower Poland , a race similar to the Hungarian, "mountainous, maybe somewhat more sandy", which will take place from August 30 to September 2. After the decisive one, in Morocco (5 days, with navigation), and finally, Portugal , which will close this exciting championship.
